| This is why he bought five acres up
in Kaiwaka, to allow him to plant fruit trees and to give the new
formed company room to expand from the area of distilling "Zuiwossa"
to importing other Austrian specialities, such as beer.
Currently the buildings itself and the planting of the fruit
trees is in progress. When everything is finished, Prestige Estates
Limited will host a luxury Bed and Breakfast, a bar, the destillery
itself as well as a smokery, to provide traditional smoked Austrian
goodies unknown to New Zealand.
Prestige Estates Master Destiller and company owner, Ron Hofstadler,
brings an long family history to the art of destilling.
Ron's distilling philosophy is quite simple: "To produce
the finest liqueurs possible from the highest quality New Zealand
fruits."
His strategy, however, is much more complex. "My goal is
to produce consistent, quality liqueurs all in a variety of styles
to suit every palate."
This approach has earned Prestige Estates a reputation for excellence
among customers.
From Ron's first "Zuiwosser" to "Ambrosia"
- "Holy Water"continues to be Prestige Estates flagship
liqueur.
Early last year Ron was visited by a long friend of his and now
business partner Raffael Grandits. Over the period of his stay
another idea was created, the import of authentic Austrian lager.
After months of preperation the first shipment was lodged and
arrived a while later in Prestige Estates warehouse in Auckland.
Raffael is manager of import and export and company representative
for Prestige Estates Limited in Europe.
